I am trying to find the correct paint for under the hood of my '67. I've read the previous threads and thought I had it narrowed down to Krylon Industrial Semiflat 1613, using their black primer 1316 underneath. However, when I called Krylon to see if they were compatable (they were), they recommended NOT using them under the hood due to high heat (not recommended more than 120 degrees). It may bubble or peel. Instead, they recommended Duplicolor primer gray engine enamel DE1612 and their low gloss black engine enamel DE 1634. The problem is that the low gloss is more of a satin, and may be too shiny.
So, my questions are:
1. Has anyone had any problems with using the Krylon under the hood?
2. Does anyone know how correct the Duplicolor low gloss black color is?
Thank you all very much for your help!
