    Re: Corvette PARTS Collectors

After going to Carlisle, the prices of parts and interest in the car hobby seemed very good considering everything else going on with the economy. I also think the car prices have corrected and are still solid just not the crazy $$ as before, unlike the housing market which I believe is still going down.

Maybe people figure it's better to have something for your money than pictures of George Washington becoming worth less every year..

I also agree that it's nice to see the 30's generation interested in this hobby and I have noticed more younger people. Corvettes at Carlisle was great this year but I could only go on Friday so I saw maybe 25% of the show.

I too am starting to buy parts as I find them. I have found a source for the LT-5 motor parts that are going to be very obscure in the future. Each time I find one of these parts, I hold my breath and thank the Corvette god. My old grandpa, who drove a stutz bearcat, and drove midgets at Gilmore stadium, told me one day, when I asked him why? His answer is something I hold dear to my heart. "It's not how many breathes you take in life that keeps you alive, it's how many times you become breathless in your life.
