    John,
Looks like a pretty cool 53.
Over the years I have seen just about every engine in a Corvette set up for street or racing, BB Chevys, Pontiacs, Cadillacs and one with a Hemi.
Has anyone ever seen one with a flathead? I know it sounds sort of backword but it sure would be different.

      Hello John;
      What year is the picture?
Is that a Sun Tach. box on the fender well?
Like the complete appearance of the engine while being lifted.

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
      I hope you dance

Here are a few pictures of a 54 I did a while back.
305 SBC from an 80 California Corvette, 350 turbo. Great running engine in a light car.
        78 Silver anniversary paint colors.
To many part missing to restore, so I preserved the car.
        Early 54 # 103X.

Photo is from 1959, and that's a Sun transmitter box on the inner fender; photo below of the other end. The 3x2's came off shortly after the photo was taken, replaced by a 6-71 blower and two WCFB's (solved the small valve and small port issues) .

            '54 Buvette

Winter of '54 saw Jim Gaylord, with the assistance of a fellow named Cole, received a Buick Engineering test motor (364 cu in) and got Carl Grimes (Phx mechanic/machinest who raced a nailhead in an Anglia) to install it.
Motor Trend did a story circa May '54 on the car.

Looks like the long lost steel bodied Vette since it looks rusty.

There was a buick engine installed in the Bill Mitchell SR2 for a short time in 1957.

Alright dude, WTH. That wreck is at $20K now and the dude actually has the words "Solid" and "Complete" IN THE AUCTION TITLE!

                  Seriously

Don't get me wrong, if I were retired with the funds and desire and not getting my money out of it but just having fun bringing it back to life, I would do it for $20K but I KNOW it's going to still go higher! Wow.

                    A friend and I pulled a '63 409/425 out of a '55 in 1975. It actually fit pretty well.

                    John,

I never get tired of seeing pictures of your '53.

Tom, was that the '63 from Angola?

It was out of one of that pair pf '55 Vettes on that lot by Crooked lake, the one that Larry bought. It was originally a Harvest Gold car. The other one, orignaly red, is where I got that '61 270 that still sets in the corner of my shop.
