    Re: 57 Barn find....

Small world ! I just spotted this car on a trailer in the hotel parking lot next door, just this past Monday. Snapped a picture of it while it was here. I think it was discovered in Illinois.

Here it is last Monday when it was in Ohio. My office manager came in the office and said "There's a crappy old Corvette on a trailer next door that you would like !! "

      Hello;
Could this be the extremely rare Buick Corvette?
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
      I hope you dance

        Tom,
As you probably know those guys in PA come up with lots of Corvette "stuff", sort of like Mike in Richmond KY.
Although this one has a rather inaccurate discription which make me wonder about those guys.

        Ray,
You could be right and it is probably the only Buick powered Corvette made.
It might have some interesting drag race history.

WOW! factory side pipes! you can tell by the tape on the headlights that this must have been a race car. does that tape look period correct?

                  Just like I like 'em.

Tom, you should've bought it off the trailer. I bet he would have delivered it to your house.

Mike, It seems kinda odd that the alphanumeric stampings on that tag have such a pristine glint from the sunlight. I would expect to see more of an oxidation/patina appearance to match the rest of the car.

I cant speak to weather it should be a stamping vs. debossed or embossed number, but it looks a little too fresh in my opinion.

                    Wonder whats on the frame.....

I don't want it because the hole in the hood won't fit my 2x4's highrise. Would hate to ruin the hood

i bet it was a drag race car as back in the day drag racers were always looking for more cubic inches. even chevy put that engine in their bigger trucks to get more cubic inches as they were 322 cu in.
