    Yo.....delightful. Thanks.

Guess I'm still on the hunt for one of these. Anyone?

    Hi Michael:

Long Island Corvette sells a pretty good reproduction of the style that the judges seem to look for (as shown in John Hinckley's photo).

For some reason, originals of this particular style seems to be quite rare. I have often wondered why this would be the case, since GM could probably have (and may have) used the same part on passenger cars as Corvettes.

The style with three concentric circles seems to be far more common among used original GM parts. Perhaps GM had multiple vendors for this part.

No, you'll find them on other GM cars of the era, but there's a caveat...

Most have been sitting 'baking' in the sun for a LONG time at various scrap yards and they've either turned a rust/brown color from the UV or they're SO dried out that they crumble and turn to dust in your hands on removal...

        Bill,

For example look at a '65 or '66 GTO....same booster however uses different mounting brackets.

Hope I am posting this correctly. I can speculate why the original factory brake check valves are scace. I worked at a oldsmobile dealer around 71 72. There was a replacement campaign on the original check valves because if a severe engine intake backfire occured it would blow off the valves plastic face causing loss of braking vacume. Also a small black canister filter was placed on the vac hose.
I don't know if gm did this with all divisions.
