    Re: Charlie Cadenhead

Charlie was a swell guy for sure. It takes a special breed to let a bunch of kids crawl over and around your car, but that is just was he allowed in this pic. Carlton was hosting a youth judging school at the 2007 Boston National meet and needed a car. Charlie was ready, willing and able to help with his beautiful 64. For those that also knew Marven Burnett, you will notice he was part of this too. Life is vapor folks....

Rest in Peace Charlie, you were a great friend and will be missed.

      Re: Charlie Cadenhead

Now this is truly shocking and saddening for me. Charlie was part of the contingent that went on the trip to the Sardine Factory in Monterey during the San Jose National Convention in 2009. This was "Sardine Factory II" ("Sardine Factory I" was during the 2002 convention in Monterey). EVERYONE that attends one of the Sardine Factory events with me is and will always remain very special in my book. Charlie was one of the members of that small but VERY SPECIAL "club".

Some photos of Charlie will be found in my responses in this thread:

Our pathes only crossed a few times but he was a very nice man. My condolances to the family. Don H.

Charlie was a big part of the NCRS Road Tours. He and his '64 are legendary.
We consider it our privilege to travel with Charlie on many trips. He will be missed.

Here's a good one of Charlie, his 64, and I think, his brother:

Taken at the Las Vegas Regional in 2007, when I finally met Charlie after corresponding on the TDB.

                        Here's Charlies 64 next to my 67:

Both were going for Founders Ops. Charlie was a traveling man and took that 64 to Boston later that year for his final Founders Award.

Charlie took that 64 everyplace. I've met him at every Regional and National since. Was talking to him, seems like just the other day in Charlotte. He was such a great guy.

                        I will sorely miss him,

NCRS was well represented at the Memorial Service in Spring, TX today for Charlie. Counted 16 + corvettes parked in lot. The Sportsman Award that Charlie earned at Charlotte National was presented to Jean. NCRS Awards earned by then were displayed on a table in the funeral home entrance. Couple photos posted on the chapter web site.

                              Ken;

Thats a great tribute to Charlie from the Texas chapter. Thanks for posting.

The best that most of us could hope for, myself included, is to have one Vette at our memorial - our own. Well, maybe my son's if he's not too busy.

The last time I spoke with Charlie was three weeks ago when he was checking on a friend that was ill. How sad that he's gone now.
It's hard to look at those pictures of him and know that he's gone.
