    The FI distributor is higher, so the short cap was used along with right angle sparkplug terminals to fit the system under the shielding (and hood) of a midyear FI more easily. The part is correct for D-310 configuration, your car if non-fi needs a D-308

      There certainly are other opinions. Every original 1970 Corvette I have seen has Pat Pend R on the Delco Remy distributor cap. Of course I haven't seen every 1970 Corvette made. Maybe I am seeing only those with Pat Pend R on the distributor cap.

        I've long-since given up on sorting out the "Patent Pending" and "Patent 2769047" issues. However, all PRODUCTION caps from 1969-74 should have the "R" on them.
