Made it to Michigan and had a great time meeting with over 20 Corvette owners. Lots of good conversation and laughs too. Really impressed by the area and the people I'm meeting.

Off to Holland Michigan tomorrow. Will be meeting with Patrick Hulst and then off to Indiana.

These are the folks that I met in Michigan today...

Jack is here with me in Holland, MI this evening. His iphone took a dump a couple of days ago so it's been a challenge for him to contact people. He got it working again, but all contacts were gone.

I've got his iTunes, iPhone and computer working well again, and he's as happy as can be. And, he'll be able to contact people again as he continues on his way.

          Hi,

I am in Battle Ground , (west Lafayette ) IN. The ride continues to be wonderful. I head to Grafton WI on Sunday. I hope to have pictures of my time with Patrick Hulst in Holland MI ready in a day or so.

The heat is a bit much, and if I have one destination a day, I will be fine.

Please understand that I can't always use the internet and I will get back to most of you as soon as I can. It helps if you email me a few days before I get to your area so I can plan my route and where I will end the day.

Fix that car and go driving

          Jack

I would like to thank Bill Garrette and his lovely wife Sheila, for their hospitality and graciousness in hosting me the other night. Their wonderful old Victorian house had me feeling right at home. The nice cars out in the garage weren't bad either.

I am having trouble with batching my photos for easy uploading. Once that is resolved, I will start a thread that is only for photos

Where am I ? Left Grafton WI , heading for Moline IL. 250 miles away.

The ride, the car, the beautiful small town countryside, corn , soybean, barns, on traffic, 3,000 to 3,5000 rpms for hours on end, great people and hosts,

I am in heaven while alive.

I will be staying with MajicV8 in Moline tonight. I head to St. Louis area tomorrow, If you were on my list to visit, please let me know, so I can plan a destination. Maybe, by tonight, a few who live in the area can meet with me at a central location

When will you be out to Washington? I have an extra bedroom if you get stuck in the middle of the state one night.

Jack told me the story of that decal. The decal you see is just like the one that was on the car when Jack bought it in the early 70's. The past owner was a pilot. After many years, the decal deteriorated and was destroyed. Well, by the magic of the internet, Jack was able to find someone from that original unit that had an original decal. Jack put the NOS decal right where the original was ! Yes, it is a Phantom decal too. Hopefully Jack will chime in and post a close up of the decal. Maybe he can fill in the actual details of how he acquired the new decal.

Frank Ford was a great host and I am still tasting my "Beef Weck" sandwich.

A few pictures of Frank and his cars. 60 and 66

I know , and it runs for hours at that speed. Thank you Carl Hinkson, engine builder. Some times I take it to 40,000 rpms.

Today, I ran 700 miles at mostly 3,400 rpms. No cars , no nothing on the mid-west blue highway roads. Great driving,
