    1954 soft top question...

On a Pennant Blue car with an Autumn Bronze dash, does anyone know what the finish color of the metal brackets (that bolt to the fiberglass area behind the door post that support the soft top) is supposed to be? Should the brackets be painted tan like the soft top frame, or Autumn Bronze like the rest of the interior.

    Thanks!

Interior color autumn bronze. Same color as the gas tank cover.

Should be Shoreline Beige interior in 54, not Autumn Bronze.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, those brackets or covers are painted half interior/half exterior color.

Top part exterior, lower part interior.

      Could you post a picture?

        Chuck:

Pennant Blue/Autumn Bronze is correct for 1954.

        Here's Cascade Green/Shoreline Beige in my 1957:

I've never seen a Pennant Blue/Shoreline Beige 1954. Even though Noland Adam's book calls out Pennant Blue/Shoreline Beige I think he is incorrect.

Here's an interior shot of car #3300 with original paint. Although a little worse for wear, it's definitely not a Shoreline Beige interior:
