I wanted to pass along a problem I had today with my 67. I just finished the power steering job and after a test drive discovered the rear brake and rear running lights quit working.
I wanted to pass along the solution to this problem which was the stop light fuse not making good contact to the retaining clip in the fuse box. This stoplight circuit (orange wire) also powers the headlight switch for the rear running lights and dash lights.
Drove me nuts, the front parking and headlights are powered by another dedicated hot (red) wire in the headlight switch and when pulled for headlights the front parking lights go out. This worked fine, the problem was just in the rear. Also, after cleaning the fuse contact the dash lights seem brighter but that may just be me.
Sorry for the long rant, I hope this helps someone in the future.
