    Re: 1965 N11 off-road question

The issue was raised before in this thread, but if 'pass judging' means ZERO points of deduction, there are NO exhaust systems anywhere (any style) that will do that. There's always SOME minor difference in construction that's visually detectable...

      Ralph,
Do not hurry this, do searches & check out the vendors mentioned and as Jack said no perfect system. The Gardner System (845-758-8003) would be my choice however that needs to have mufflers welded (plenty of original pictures of these welds)

See if you can contact other members who have put on before purchase. Since you need entire system the fit should be correct.

Ralph, I used the Gardner system on my 64, fit perfect, just slipped together, adjusted it. Clamped the muffler/tailpipe joint in place, drove to local muffler shop, they seal welded it in place. Go to www.Gardnerexhaust.com and click on the 64 Corvette to hear mine.

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

According to the judging manual the external muffler surface is a galvanized steel coating, do any of the vendors make them that way.

I got my N-11 system from CCentral. Beautifully built and perfectly tuned! Nice rumble at idle and a roar when it comes on the cam! They have welded and clamp style available. Mine are welded.

                Hi Michael,

Buddy of mine and myself have the N11 systems from C Central. They definately sound better then the stock exhaust. Fit is very good and we have the systems with the clamps.

Both our cars (63 and 65) have the 327-300 bhp setup!

Jack -- any idea (hypothetically) what deduct my GM-issue N11's (circa 1981) would suffer, supposedly because of the Arvin emboss characters and the absence of the yellow ink-stamp "OFF ROAD" ?

Wayne, I lost 2 points at regional: marked as "SR"
but none at national (don't let them know that)
These are 1972 SR - yours look better.
