I hope this isn't an improper thread. I tried to clear it with a mod but no one's light is on. If it's improper, I apologize.
On the way home today, I noticed the 1958 Chevrolet Impala 2-door hardtop sitting in a carport had a for sale sign on it. No one was at home, but I stopped to look at it. It's Cay Coral, Artic White top, Cay Coral interior. The car has been there for several years. It appears to have totally original paint, interior, chrome. There is no rust on the car anywhere that I could find. Even has wide whites on it.
It's a 283, automatic, has custom wheel covers (the old white waffle kind with spinners), but there is an oil leak judging from the cardboard under the engine, has the wrong air cleaner and perhaps carb. I called the owner later who told me he bought it from the daughter of the original owner 4 years ago. The car spent it's life in California. The owner says it runs good and that the only damage was to a quarter panel when a neighbor once back into it in CA that was straightend and repainted. He wants $25K, which I don't know whether is outrageous or fair.
It does need new paint and interior, although the paint is very presentable. The body is very straight. I am not affiliated with this sale. I'll give the tel. # to anyone who's interested. The pic below is not the actual car but it looks a lot like it (paint combo is a little different).
