Re: 1968 Corvette UA6 ALARM OPTION
Hello Jack, I Am Working On Very Early 69 With A Ua6 Option. I Posted An Earlier Thread Discussing This Option. Is The E69 The Same Layout As A 68? ( Withseparate Jam Switches) It Was Suggested That My Alarm System Was Wired In Conjuction With The Courtsey Door Jam Switchs. My System Has Three Separate Switches, Two Door Jam Switches And A Hood Switch. The Horn Works When The Key Is Activated And The Switches Do Not Seem To Have Any Effect On The Operation. On A Previous Thread Someone Sent Me A Wiring Diagram For Alarm System But Does Pertain To My System. Hopefully I Have Not Totally Confused Everbody. Any Help Wpould Really Be Appreciated.- Top

BTW: How do you get the first letter of each word capitalized? I sometimes want to do that, and I haven't yet found a way unless -- I use Word Perfect.Terry- Top

Re: 1968 Corvette UA6 ALARM OPTION
Yes. There were several changes in the UA6 system over the years. Some in the door pin switches, and another in the location of the relays and flasher in the passenger side storage compartment. I don't think the change in location of the relays and flasher would change the wiring diagram as they were only moved several inches.Terry- Top

Re: 1968 Corvette UA6 ALARM OPTION
As I remember it the early C3s used the jamb/courtesy switch to trigger the alarm.
Later years around 72 the door ajar switch was used to trigger the alarm.
The alarm trigger wires should be white/black tracer , pull your ajar switch to check wire color but I'm betting your car use's the jamb switches.
If the alarm horn blows when you turn the key on then the white/black is most likely going to ground triggering the alarm BUT the alarm horn could have been mounted wrong and is grounded all the time OR the wiring has been modified.
This system is actually very simple but can be very confusing because of the tricky wiring. Unlike a normal horn the spade on the horn is made hot as soon as you turn the key on , grounding the horn case makes the alarm sound.- Top
