The body shop restoring my 1958 needs a frame to mount my body on as they do their work. Does anyone have an old rusty one or a not so useable frame that you would sell for cheap or a frame that you would even consider renting? I am in the Charlotte N.C. area and would consider traveling 300-400 miles. Thanks!!

Re: C1 Old Crappy Frame NEEDED
The only good fit will be your original frame with its shims for your body. Anything else will be a crap shoot. Why not use your frame wrapped in plastic etc. for a set up tool?

Re: C1 Old Crappy Frame NEEDED
Justin, I would have to agree that the best solution is your own frame. I just completed a frame restoration of a 59 and had the body on a dolly. For accuracy, the body is now back on the frame to complete bodywork etc.
However, if you really think you want to use another frame for your setup, I have a unhit original '62 frame sitting around doing nothing and you are welcome to make arrangements to use it for as long as needed. You could just give me a deposit and when you return it to me we swap back. The front crossmember is off and needs 2 front wheels/tires but this could be bolted up easily and you supply the wheels/tires yourself.
However I am beyond your limit of travel.......maybe. According to googlemaps I'm about 580 miles from Charlotte here in eastern Florida, about 2 hours south of Daytona. Your other option is to use a transporter. I may know someone who hauls between FL & Delaware often and may be in the area.
PM if you're interested.

Re: C1 Old Crappy Frame NEEDED
Justin, I would be the first to help you if I had the frame you need.
Having said that, keep in mind that thousands of vintage Corvettes have been restored with bodies on frame dollies.
I must agree with the others who have given you excellent advice. I two, believe that all frames are in fact....slightly different.
