Mine had a bend and the gouge in the fiberglass led me to believe it was not intentional. I straightened it....

Sorry, I tried but I couldn't get a clear image. The fiberglass had a clear semi-circle from the end of the spring digging into it. I was trying to make the e brake work more smoothly and I figured that friction was not helping things.

Is/was the bracket bent also or just the lever?

The bracket is/was straight and the lever was bent upward. BTW, it is a very early Feb, car.

I checked my coupe tonight and my bracket also has a slight bend upward as your picture shows.

The last change is "6", so it appears as if the change record got filled up with "5" and was replaced with a new one, so the previous changes got lost.

My 3/63 built SWC is straight.

Maybe you are on to something.
