    T-3 headlights

I read an article about sealing original T-3 headlights against escaping gas causing them to burn out. The solution as I remeber it was to paint around the headlight brass connectors where they meet the glass with clear nail polish. I looked in the Archives and could not find it. Does anyone remember this articile? Maybe it was on another board. Thank you Dale

I asked the same question a while back. The consensus then was to use a silicone sealer around the base of the terminals on top of the original sealer.

I like using epoxy, it's more durable and less prone to being peeled off.

I don't think it will hurt to seal it, but how can ya prove that sealing it worked?I think it's just an old car guy's tail!!!!

If the headlight works, the seal has not been broken and the gas hasn't escaped. And, as Bill says, it can't hurt to re-seal it.

It's very common for the original sealer to get old and fail, causing the bulb to lose its vacuum and burn out the filament. Adding a sealer helps prevent this from happening, or at least, that's the experts opinion. I still have the original date coded T-3's in my 65 and they work fine so I added a sealer. What can it hurt?
