    Thermostat Housing for a '63 300HP

I have a thermostat housing for a '63 300 HP engine. The housing has 'GM' and the number 3827369 debossed on the top. That is all. I have seen others that have an additional B2 or B4 or some other B#. Since mine does not have the B#, I was wondering if it would be correct. Why would it not have the B#?

    Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure myself. I just wanted to send this back to the top to give someone else a chance to give ya an answer.

I believe the iron thermo casting 33827369 is the correct housing for 63- 300 hp. The B # is the mold # for ID purposes in case of defect.

        Donald,

Thanks for the response. From the books, I know that the casting number is correct. I was wondering about what you called the mold number - the B#. Is it common for some housings not to have this mold number? Does this show that it is a repro? or later replacement casting? Or is it simply that some were just not cast with the number?

        Lastly, will this affect judging?

        Thanks!

        Jon
