    Oil pan question.

Can someone identify this oil pan part number 539937?
It is a single step trapdoor pan.
Seems like a replacement midyear pan.
    Thanks.

There was NEVER a Chevrolet oil pan of GM #539937. However, there was a Corvette oil pan of GM #359937. It was a SERVICE-only oil pan applicable to 57-62 Corvettes. It's basically the same as the 1962 Corvette oil pan with a front seal radius of the 1975+ size and uses 75+ gasket set..

      Joe,
Dyslexia got the best of me, the part number is what you stated.
      359937 Group 1.426.
Pictures are on Ebay under item number 160427661306
The pictures show the pan as a single step pan. Was this a redesign of the 3 step pan?
Will that work ok in a C1 Corvette ? I thought there were some clearence problems.

What we have here is a GM #359937 BOX which contains a GM #359942 OIL PAN. The GM #359942 is the 63-72 "6 quart" SERVICE small block oil pan.
