    57 crossover

is the crossover pipe for the fuel injection exhaust systems sealed, welded, or just fitted on the center joint where the two meet?

    Thanks

      Chris,
      I agree with Gary,
No clamps, just some silicate muffler sealer or muffler cement.
When you go to assemble it be sure you do a test fit first since once assembled the sealer hardens pretty quickly. Also wipe the wet cement with a damp rag before it drys or it will never come off.
Once assembled it will last forever.
      Good luck.

the cross-over pipes i got from corvette central were such a precise fit, i had no need to seal the joint with cement. absolutly no exhaust gas leakage at the joint with cc's precise fit. the advantage will be evident if i have to dis-assemble the joint in the future.mike

Same experience as Mike's with the parts I got from Allen's Stainless. No sealer needed for a tight fit.

I thought the idea of the slip fit joint w/o sealer was to allow for some level of expansion/growth when hot. Don't recall using any sealer back in the day for just that reason.
