69 Carb Question

The attached pictures are of a 69 Rochester 7029207 carburetor. It is missing some linkage pieces. Does any one have any detailed pictures of a 69 carburetor that will show me how:

1 How the choke linkage is assembled
2 How the secondary stop is assembled on the passenger side
3 How the accelerator linkage is connected on the drivers side.

I have a 74 carb on my 69 car and the linkage is completely different. Thanks for your help in advance.

Attached are 2 pictures from my '69 small block. It appears that the accelerator linkage lever is very different on the yours than on mine. I would bet that someone put a different throttle plate on this carb sometime in its life. Hope the pictures help.

The pictures are perfect. They are both exactly what I need. The part #s are helpfull also.

I have noted some unusual differences between the cabs.

On Clem's carb picture the bottom secondary shaft has no pin that goes through it(this is like mine) but Jeff's has a pin though the shaft for a secondary stop. Is that normal not to have a secondary stop on the bottom shaft on some carbs?

The second thing that is different on mine, is that on the bottom plate, driver side, back of the carb is where the accelerator mount is attached. On my carb there is no hole for the dog on the accelerator mount to fit into. My car has the dog on the mount. Should I drill a hole for the mount or cut the dog off. Or... is there a different mount that i should be looking for.

i think the throttle base plate has been changed on your carb and is not the original

It may be different because the carb is one that is mentioned in the manual that were stamped at the plant. The member I purchased it from said that he pulled it off of his 69 back in the early 70's

does your carb have a secondary air valve lockout on the top activated by the choke plate??? the carb you pictured has the secondary lockout lever that is to work with the pin that is missing from your secondary throttle shaft

It is my understanding that pin is there to prevent the secondaries from opening when the choke is functioning on a cold engine.

they did it 2 different ways as i posted above. the early ones used the lock out for the top air valve to prevent it from opening when the choke was still engaged and the later ones used the lever and pin on the secondary throttle shaft to prevent the secondary butterflies from opening while the choke was engaged. the carb above has the lock out lever but no pin on the shaft so i think the throttle body plate has been changed. the only later carbs that did not have the lock out pin was marine carbs because they had a hand throttle

The date on this carb is on the throttle plate, not on the main body and is correct for my Oct '68 car.

does this carb have a secondary air valve lockout on the top that is activated by the choke butterfly that keeps the air valve from opening when the choke is closed ?? if not i have never seen a automotive Q jet without a secondary cold engine lockout. yours has the little silver lockout lever on the choke side that is used with the secondary shaft pin that is not on yours. like i posted before marine carbs do not have this lockout.

the picture i posted is from a carb book and i have no idea what year the carb is. i was just showing what rod and pulloff was missing from yours.

My car is still in my shop so when I go in over the weekend I will check for the lockout on top. I can't recall if it does or not.
