Hi Patrick,
My 71, #6589, std black carpet has the IMCO logo. It is about 2/3 rd the size and much fainter than the reproduction 'football'. I believe it was always faint since there's really not any wear on that part of the pad.

My July built 68 with black does have the logo. I thought it did not at first, but when I had the car judged at a chapter meet the judge pointed it out to me. Very hard to see unless you know what you're looking for.

Hello Patick My 72 -Ontario Orange 987 w/ deluxe interior 421-Auto w/ 350/200 built June 28-Vin.5020 does not have the logo but does have the original carpet . The driver & passenger both have tags .

My 72 [production # 21344 build date May 15] with blue vinyl [412] does NOT have the logo. Original owner and original carpet. Hope this helps

The logo has not been found after 1971. We have reason to believe it vanished when the ribbing pattern at the top changed. I did see one very early '72 (ca 200 VIN) with the logo, but it was a leftover 1971-style carpet.

In 20 years of judging, I have never found a known original 1968-71 carpet without the logo. As others mentioned, it is VERY faint and difficult to see on some colors or if the heel pad is worn. I have had many fellow judges and car owners ask me to point it out to them as they were unable to find it.

In responding to Patrick's request, it will help if you also list the build date of your car. Thanks.

Question - either your VIN or your build date quoted above are not correct. Car 5020 would have been in the fall of 71, not June 28.

Thanks Reba - that's what I was looking for. The "guys" working on the 68-9 didn't know this answer and neither did I.

Now if we could narrow down the time frame... as you state it may be based on when the ribbing changed.

My 70 # 3893 with saddle carpet dose not have the logo. Looked with a 10 power glass. Corvette has 19,000 Mi with original Interior. Still smells new

That is the way to get pictures -- carpet out of the car. And IMCO on the high-beam pad (I wish the 1970 had a dead pedal). Great news and photos Robert.

My original owner 1970 coupe built in July still has the original optional interior plush black carpeting and still has the IMCO logo on the heel pad. I kept the heel pad when I removed the original carpeting from our original owner 68, but not sure where it is stored.

"Late 1971 and 1972 carpets had a 3/8-inch gap between the top rib and the stitching. (See Fig. I 2.1) There is no logo on this latter-style heel pad."
