Re: 1958 Borg warner 4 speed C1
A local Dr has a '58(#3XXX) that he has owned since 1962; he finally restored the car 5 years ago; cast iron main case, T10-7 aluminum extension with the "SPAC" label, a sidecover with no buttressing and an assembly in the second week of June 1957 - no question about it being the one for the car- Top

Re: 1958 Borg warner 4 speed C1
Digging into a 25-year old folder, I found 3 photos of 7A tailshafts made in Oct 57. Wayne Loron article two centuries ago presented a "guestimate" that the 7A was for 1958 production, based on ????
As Always, and even more so here, BW would have USED UP T10-7 extensions before allowing the "7A"s anywhere near the line.
Based on the Iowa doctor's car of #3XXX, I would expect early Corvettes to have a T10-7 extension.- Top
