I have a yellow spot about the size of a dime on the white top on my 65. I cannot get it off. I have no idea what it is,it was there when I bought the car. The rest of the top cleaned up pretty good. Any ideas as what to try. I tried upholstrey cleaner,a liitle bleach, a little comet and a tooth brush and nothing! Any Ideas? The to p I believe to be original and is in fairly good condition. I would like to save it. Thanks in advance Tom

Re: spot on white top??
Tom, most of the time stains into vinyl that are not removed with the typical cleaners, is of a chemical stain, its the same sometimes with interior parts that are white, generally their permanet,
My advice is to maybe try dusting aliitle white vinyl dye onto the area.they do make a dye especially for vinyl tops if you want to re-do the top.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: spot on white top??
I might try using a liquid white wall cleaner - I would take a paper towel fold it a few times and then soak it pretty good and place over the spot. Don't know where the spot is but the paper towel should prevent runnage, leave it for a few days and rewet the towel as need be. Good luck.- Top

Re: spot on white top??
I use a solution called vinyl prep which I purchased in an automotive store which mixes paints ad dyes. It is a cleaner to use before you re dye. It took off yellow stains on my 3o year old white top. It looks like new and did not hurt the top. Keep it off your paint.

Re: spot on white top??
try some lacquer thinner. i have used that in the past and it worked well on my 66 lincoln white hardtop vinyl. but i would make sure to try a hidden spot first just to be safe. lacqeur thinner would be a last resort try if all else fails. good luck.- Top
