So I am back to my questions:

      1. Who has Mike Hunt's data?
      2. When, where, and how will it be made available to the Corvette community?

Ed, the Kettering Institute picked up a van load of information from Mike Hunt's friend Ruth last fall. Understand Kettering committed to making an exhibit or section dedicated to Mike's data. Hopefully, it will be open by the 2011 Novi Convention. Gary....

Jim Frakes (original owner '56) provided a more accurate listing obtained from a fellow in GM (not Chevrolet) marketing. I think it appeared in the Straight Axle magazine (perhaps Restorer); I'll dig out the reference and pass it on when I venture into the deep dark archives later today.

Sounds like Loren has some updated data he can supply as well. I believe Mikes survey results are from the 1985 time frame.

That looks EXTREMELY similar to the type of daily start-finish list that Jack Knudsen had at the 81 NCRS Natls. Except, Jack's data was all hand written in a notebook.
Ummmmmmmmmmm, could both possibly be from the same source???

It will be interesting to see what Joe posts here for the Sept 56 daily start-finish data!

I don't have the blue folders and can't remember them. Just came across it in my files.

When I bought the Nassau car Mike and I communicated frequently and he sent me stuff.

                    No.
I have all of the blue folders that Mike made available back then, and this kind of data was not in any of them.

I have that kind of data from Mike Hunt. When I got my first 56 back in 1991, I ordered his survey info on 56 and 57 Corvettes.

                        Back from downstairs, alive!

Jim Frake's article appeared in the Winter 1996 issue of "On Solid Ground"; his information source was a David Brown, General Director, North American Market Analysis, General Motors Corporation.
In the following issue, Spring 1996, there is a followup submission by Tom Parsons, submitting his Jack Knudsen-verified build date of 9-7-56 and confirming that it "fit" with Frakes time frame.
                        Sorry, no scanner.

Because the General started at 1001 I sometimes find it confusing. I have vin 2653 which is the 1653rd car built. So it appears from this list that my car was built June 5th. I have the third edition of the birthday book and it lists my car on May25th.

Welcome to the joys of 56 ownership. Tracking down the production date on a 56 is a challenge, to say the least.
