if you go to YearOne's website, they sell the tool and clamps. Just look under Mopar A/B/E bodies...
Mopar used them on all the rubber fuel lines as well as the power steering return line.

Re: Crimped power steering hose clamps

I assume that you have been talking about the clamp that attaches the return line hose to the spout on the power steering pump reservoir. That was a Chevrolet controlled connection. I have a Saginaw return line hose assembly drawing 7809489 dated Feb 1969 that probably was for the 1970 model year. The Saginaw drawing references Chevrolet part number 3826278. I can't retrieve Chevrolet drawings so I don't know if that drawing is just a pipe or a pipe and hose assembly. The Saginaw return hose assembly was obsoleted on 6-11-1977. So I assume that Saginaw no longer manufactured this return hose assembly in 1977.

Saginaw manufactured this return line hose assembly with a crimped metal collar that permanently connected the hose to the pipe coming out of the control valve as shown. To service this assembly you had to use a hacksaw to cut the collar from the hose.

I assume that Chevrolet may have taken over responsibility for the pipe and the connection at the control valve after 1977. I am sure that they didn't use a crimped collar like the Saginaw drawing.

One other tid bit. The Oetiker clamp was invented by a very clever Swiss engineer by the name of Hans Oetiker. Hans was a multi-millionaire who made his fortune on patenting quite simple devises such as hose clamps. The pictures by Paul Oslansky are quite revealing. The hose assembly picture is indeed a Saginaw manufactured return line hose assembly. You can readily see the Saginaw crimped collar and the loose (Oetiker?) clamp on the reservoir end. The Oetiker clamp claim to fame (and Hans Oetiker's patent) was a dimple formed into the clamp where it was crimped (again you can see the dimple in the clamp picture.) With the strengthening dimple you could make the crimp with the pinching tool shown and the tension in the connection was very stable and repeatable. Whether Chevrolet used the Oetiker clamps, I can't say.

Because of the patents, Oetiker clamps were not cheap. However, they were very reliable. I believe that Saginaw used Oetiker clamps on their front wheel drive axles, (where the boots connected to the joints and axle shafts.

The rubber hose portion was made by the Swan company they still make hoses to this day. I bought a garden hose made by them a few years ago.
