C2 Rear cross over brake line

The rear cross over brake line in my 66 is in two sections with a brass connection approximately half way between the hose connector and the centerline of the car.

I believe this to be incorrect per the AIM and about to remove and replace it with a one piece line.

Before I do this, was there any possibility that this was ever done this way by the factory?

Also, who do you recomend for this part.

original cross-over tube was one piece. if you're having the 65 judged, get mild steel. if not, buy the stainless repo.i believe both available from Paragon of Corvette Central .mike
