Tx to all that responded to my post. I haven't been able to work on the car since your responses, but I now know where it goes. I just need to see where it connects under the dash, maybe somewhere on the air box.

Thanks guys. I was in a hurry and more than a little frustrated (that is the PC term), so I didn't notice an option to "save" or "save as." I'll watch next time, it I remember.

        John,
Do you still want engine compartment photos? I was going to do that later today -- at the peak of the thermometer, such as it is.

Terry, the resizer tool doesn't give "save" or "save as" options. When you right click on a photo and select Resize Pictures a Resize Pictures window opens and gives you 4 options, small, med, large & handheld pc. Selecting one of these should create a new resized image. One thing to check, with the resized window open click on the advanced button and make sure the "Resize the origional pictures (don't make copies)" option is not checked. Also the new resized photo is not created next to the original but will be the last photo in whatever folder your in.

          Good Luck,

          Jerry

            Terry,

If John doesn't, I certainly would love to have the engine compartment pictures. If it's not too much trouble, and you wouldn't mind. I followed your earlier suggestion and searched for previously posted pictures, but I didn't come up with much.

            Thanks.

                  Terry,

Thanks for the pictures. They are exactly what I need, and more than I had hoped for.

                  Thanks.

                    Terry

I saw the pics you posted. My original question was re one of the vacuum hoses coming off the relay attached to the firewall as displayed in your second pic. It's the small hose coming off the tee to the right of the metal check valve. Please help with where that hose goes and what it attaches to. I did get a response from another contact outside of the TDB, but that info didn't fit my car.

My car is a 70BB #2103. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this hose has us confused.

change infoJoseph the small hose that is "Tee's" off of the main power vacuum hose with the small clamp. That is for your Heater/AC supply hose to your heater control. It should enter your Firewall at some point to feed the control. I know where it is on a 71 but it maybe different on a 70 due to where the Tee is located due to the vacuum relay location. On a 71 and some 69's the Tee is located below the pass hood latch and enters the firewall below and close to that location.

                        Joe,

I'll see if I can get a close-up for you. That bunch of tubing is a real snake pit. Meantime, a dumb question: Does the 1970 AIM not show where it goes?

Are you sure that small hose is shown int he second picture of the first group? Run your curser over the picture in question and give me the number following the letters DSCN.

BTW: My car is 2161 so we are pretty close.

Terry, tx for your continued help. My mistake in citing the second pic in your first group, it was the third #22668. We looked in the AIM and didn't find the info we needed. That's not to say it isn't there though.

Our cars are very close in production time

OK that makes more sense. You want where the small tube that comes out of the T in the yellow hose goes -- the tube with the small spring clamp on it.

I am sure Paul is right and it goes to the HVAC system inside the car, but I'll see if I can find which grommet it goes through.

Terry, yes that's the hose. Where does it enter the firewall and where might it connect in the heating system. Our cars are so close in production you'd have the most accurate info. Tx for hanging in there for me.

BTW: I noticed you have a Z06. I had an 07, but my brother bugged me until I sold it to him. They're awesome!!!

I couldn't find where it enters the firewall (IP). IT goes down from that T and curves toward the passenger side, going under the windshield washer pump. I lose it there because everything is packed in there, and I don't want to move the hoses and wiring around much in the cold. It is bad enough our cars are 40 years old (Did you note the passing of your car's birthday last week?), but moving old plastic around in the cold is just not a good idea.

I would guess this hose was installed in the interior before the engine compartment electrical wiring because it is at the bottom of all the harnesses. After the electrical wiring the vacuum harness were put in position, and the small hose was connected to the T.

In the second picture the hose in question is way down at the bottom, below the tan braided wire for the ignition. It is almost out of sight at the bottom. A few more pictures:
