The first photo shows how they modified a stock transfer cart from the plant into a rolling scaffold. They welded an extensionon one end for the worker to stand on (complete with conduit railings and cardboard walls). They wedged a wooden dining chair back frame (arrow) under the metal stretchers beneath the cart and put a welder on top of this chair back for ballast so the cart would not tip over when the worker stood on the platform. Then, they pushed him out thru the open window:

The red arrow in next photo shows where he was working:

If you think about the fact that the worker was relying on the strength of a wood dining chair back to keep his platform from tipping, it's really a pretty scary thought.
Definitely one of those "Don't try this at home boys and girls" moments!!

China is at one end if the pendulum swing and the US is at the other.
Unions were the best when started, now union owned/directed corporations are economically top heavy. (Sh-t storm coming)

Read up on China by searching the internet. Their problems are huge. Total cities built in 25 years by hundreds of thousands of men with a hammer and a piece of reinforcement rod. Taiwan started earlier and has not solved most problems caused by fast expansion.

Protectionism never protects the initiating country. The most outstanding benefit of free trade has always been that it has reduced costs for the consumer. Most protectionist policies involve either making foreign goods more expensive or domestic goods more cheap -- either way, the consumer suffers because he or she either must pay a higher price for goods or higher taxes to support governmental subsidies. Less Government=good.

      Just my 2 cents.

Dopes, they could have been stamping out hats in the same process.

Hey Rob That guy cleaning the gutters had his safety gear on, what's the big deal?

There are lots of high-voltage electrical videos in that area of Utube.

That's the single most intelligent statement made in this whole discussion. How do you think China ended up as a third world country in the first place?

As soon as fuel prices jump back up to $4 -$5 a gallon or higher, it should all even itself out. When gas prices jumped higher last year, you could already see that the prices to ship goods all the way from China were going to be more expensive than to just manufacture said goods here. It's just a matter of time.

Accidents are predictible, the severity is what you cannot predict. That is the reason for OHSA and all the rules. If I learned nothing else when I worked in risk management, I learned this.
