And why the Chinese obviously have no OSHA; anyone familiar with stamping presses and part transfer mechanisms will find this Chinese stamping operation simply terrifying.

Unions were the best when started, now union owned/directed corporations are economically top heavy. (Sh-t storm coming)
Read up on China by searching the internet. Their problems are huge. Total cities built in 25 years by hundreds of thousands of men with a hammer and a piece of reinforcement rod. Taiwan started earlier and has not solved most problems caused by fast expansion.
Protectionism never protects the initiating country. The most outstanding benefit of free trade has always been that it has reduced costs for the consumer. Most protectionist policies involve either making foreign goods more expensive or domestic goods more cheap -- either way, the consumer suffers because he or she either must pay a higher price for goods or higher taxes to support governmental subsidies. Less Government=good.
Just my 2 cents.

As soon as fuel prices jump back up to $4 -$5 a gallon or higher, it should all even itself out. When gas prices jumped higher last year, you could already see that the prices to ship goods all the way from China were going to be more expensive than to just manufacture said goods here. It's just a matter of time.- Top

Accidents are predictible, the severity is what you cannot predict. That is the reason for OHSA and all the rules. If I learned nothing else when I worked in risk management, I learned this.Dick Whittington- Top
