Re: 1967 Glove Box Contents
I was going over my 67 TIM & JG in the Glove Box Contents section and noticed for the first time this part of the first sentence: "a small manila envelope that contains the license attachment screws". I don't think I have ever seen one or heard it discussed before. Would anyone have a picture of one?
Thanks,
Rick
I have a fourth edition 67 TIM & JG and do not see the same sentence. I am looking at Compartment Contents on page 36 white and 36 yellow and there is no mention of "a small manila envelope". Where are you seeing this? Thanks.

Re: 1967 Glove Box Contents
Kirk,
I have the same 4th edition with the yellow page updates but page 36 doesn't have a yellow page update. Can't remember for sure but mine is about a year old. It is not in the 2nd edition and I can not locate my 3rd edition.

Could you please post a scan of the entire page? I do not see this wording in any of the third or fourth editions...- Top

Re: 1967 Glove Box Contents
The license plate attaching screws (and the envelope they came in) disappeared during "normal dealer preparation" when the tech installed the plates; shouldn't be a judged item.
I agree with you on that one, John. Since our standard is 'as delivered to the original owner with then current dealer prep' owners should be able to sucessfully argue any deductions for the absence of this factory original component...- Top

Re: 1967 Glove Box Contents
James Salvino sent me a scan of a yellow page 36.
I'm surprised to see the envelope mentioned. Now I need to figure out which is most current, His or mine.
I have to agree with John and Jack. Although called out in the aim, in most cases this envelope would not likely find its way to the original purchaser. An interesting novelty nonetheless; some guy that wears shorts and a winter jacket has shown me originals.
The entire glove box contents point assignment would not allow for much of a deduction even if a judge felt it was necessary. I would advise against any deduction.

Would you expect to see 1/2 the contents of the hardware packet on a car that was delivered in a state with just a rear license plate?James Salvino sent me a scan of a yellow page 36.

Re: 1967 Glove Box Contents
It's on both the yellow and white page 36 in the updated 4th Edition (the one with both white and yellow pages). There's no publication date on the inside cover - we need to add that to the 5th Edition.- Top

My updated 4th Edition, Winter 2005, Second Printing (and the previous updated 4th edition with both white and yellow pages but no publication date) both say "...a small manila envelope that contains the license attachment screws..." in the first sentence under "Compartment Contents".Attached FilesLast edited by John H.; January 11, 2010, 08:21 PM.- Top

Re: 1967 Glove Box Contents
I believe the page Jim submitted to me was a loose insert; my 2 are bound into the manual, as is John's. The problem brought up by Rick & John points out are that none are dated and all are 4TH Edition. Going forward, dates need to be assigned to all revisions to avoid this confusion.
Thanks everyone for your input.
I understand Brian Mchale is undertaking a survey to locate all original envelopes from one-plate states in 1967 and report his findings to us...- Top

The key envelope wasn't released for 1967 - it doesn't show up in the Miscellaneous Shipping List; the extra key and the lighter went loose in the glove box. The key envelope is a C3 item.- Top
