Trailing Arms

I have pulled my trailing arms off my car and have been considering using Duntov Motor Company as a source for reconditioned originals (recommended by a fellow member). Anyone have experience with them you would like to share?

I used Bair's very happy with product and service. Might be expensive to ship to depending if you are on the West Coast.

I agree. My arms are currently being removed and will go to Bairs next week for rebuild. They even supply the shipping boxes to avoid damage. I would strongly consider them.

Duntov may or may not rebuild their own arms. You could call and inquire. Often these companies will resell ones they get wholesale from a rebuilder. Could be Bairs, Ikerds, Van Steel, etc.

Also consider Gary Ramadei for rebuilt trailing arms. He occassionally posts here......has an excellent reputation for quality work.

Check the thickness of the metal in all places on the T-arms. If you find lumps and bumps that may be swelling from a rust infested spot. If you find this just get new arms from Bairs. This is a safety issue that I believe overrides originality.

I will second using Bairs. Yogi and Brian have been building the arms for 30 or so years.

Here is another vote for Bair's they did mine too, shipped me the boxes to use for transportation. Make sure you tell them if you want them to meet NCRS expectations.

Another vote for Bairs. They did mine ten years ago and no troubles since.

As mentioned I do them and machine fit all the parts. Takes me a lot longer but they come out the best. With that said, Bairs would be the ONLY vendor I would recommend. Brian Bair is an honest guy as is his business.

I have used Van steel a couple times. Very satisfied, but I have heard nothing but good about Bairs. Tom

As I live about 30 miles from Bair's and have known them since the 70's I'm predjudiced, but I can also tell you that they also do the work for some of the more reputable shops across the country.
