Imagine looking up to a guy like Travis Pastrana. He is the most insane youth I have ever seen and anyone who looks up to a guy like Travis is also mental. He has a personal death wish and I hope kids can see through his heroic acts of insanity !!!!!!!!!! What he does is not cool it's just a stupid death wish he hasn't finished with. He might not of used up all his 9 lives but he will eventually. Stewy

he has found a way to become a millionaire without working. i have been to both the off road rallies were travis races and to the corvette road races and i will tell you the crowd at the off road rallies are much younger than the crowd at the corvette road races. kid

That reminds me of a Mark Knoepfler hit (and I don't want to stir more controversy) 'that little fa##*@@ got his own jet airplane, that little fa##*@@ he's a millionaire...now that ain't working...'

          more power to him.

Hi Roy One day we shall meet for a burger! I have a Vette, I have had many, I have a wife, I have had only one, I have a son, I will soon have another, I have a dog, she loves convertibles, I have a cat, he hates the dog, I drive my Vette, whenever I can, If I go to Home Depot, I will take the van. When I purchased my 65 I wanted to take the top down (it was a warm clear night). The seller looked at me like I was nuts! "I never even drove this car" I respected his feelings but when I brought her home, the top went down, the wife asked "how much was this one?", I lied a little, covered the seats and took the dog for a killer ride! I think that is the main reason the cat hates the dog, however I did catch them napping on the couch together last week. When my boy goes to school I will drive him in our 65 with pride! Do you think Pez will make a Zora head for our kids? HAPPY NEW YEAR! 111808

This has turned into a great thread , just love the stories , never got five stars before. The best part of being an NCRS member are the people I've met or know by mail even guys that trailer their Corvette..I've been around long enough to make good friends and collect enemies , but that's life and I accept that and have no problem with anyone having a different opinion. I would buy anyone a beer and BS about Corvettes or any car

                  Rating?

Do I dare ask how this question attains a five gold star rating? I ask because it seems to me to be a simple question of how do you enjoy your car - a question that has a million different answers.

While there friends told me. "You didn't leave your car in the lot did you?"
"It won't be there when you get back!" I left early. As much as I love driving my car, I now have to be aware of more than I wanted to. It took some of the fun from it. While I still drive it as often as I can, I am looking for a driver that I will care less about....My rant.
You're absolutely right! It took some of the fun out of it for me too. Although I have a few tricks, it's not the same.

you take a chance even with a "new" corvette because when i got my new 97 C-5 the first time i parked it at the mall someone spit a "honker" on the rear hatch window. like i have posted before when i park my corvette i leave my empty gun holster laying on the dash in plain sight to let them know the owner is armed and could be close by.

                        Note to self:
start new anti-theft plan in the spring when Corvette comes out of storage.

HILARIOUS!! Lay a couple shell casings next to it for an exclamation point.

                              Roy,
FYI, I drove my recent Top Flight '69 to work today, about 70 miles round trip through LA. And the roads were actually still damp from yesterdays rain too.
I figure if I have to work on New Years Eve, might as well make it fun and different.
I usually commute on a motorcycle, the only way to keep sane in daily LA traffic.
I drive the car every weekend to all the local events, and at least once a month to work when it's together. It regularly ripped apart for some ongoing project, but I always try to get it back and on the road before the next project.
                              Happy New Year!

That is why I insure my car for more than its actual value, I will drive and use my car for MY pleasure. If I worried about what might happen, why own it, it is only a car and it is replaceable. Drive it like you stole it, even a Top Flight car. Or maybe even race it!!
