Looking for an LS6 intake for my 68

Can anyone help me locate an LS6 intake for my 68 427. I've heard it will work with my stock hood. Dont deal with E-bay...

Why not eBay? It's your best bet for finding something like this. But, if you're dead-set against it, then I'd suggest perusing swap meets. These things turn up at the better ones (like Pomona, CA which has about 5 or 6 meets per year). If you went to Pomona, for example, and got there early, I can almost guarantee you'll find at least one for sale. Expect to pay about $350-500, though.

As a matter of fact, I bought my first example of the 3963569 at Pomona about 20+ years ago. I paid 25 bucks for it (and my buddy wanted to try to chisel the guy down but I wouldn't let him). I've bought many more over the years [none for sale] but I can guarantee you that I NEVER bought another one again for 25 bucks. Or, anywhere near that price!

As far as using it on your 68, it will fit under a stock 68-72 big block hood. In fact, it's one of only two square flange (Holley) manifolds ever made that will fit under a 68-72 big block hood. However, the 3963569 is a RECTANGULAR port manifold. So, it is designed only for use with rectangular port heads (i.e. only L-71 and L-88 for the 1968 model year).

The only other square flange manifold ever made that will fit under a 1968-72 Corvette big block hood is the Edelbrock Torker II. However, this is a single plane manifold which I do not recommend for street use. It is an OVAL PORT manifold and designed to work with OVAL PORT heads (i.e. L-36 or L-68), so if you have an oval port engine, this is the only one that will work for you, single plane or not. It has no provisions for a stock-type, divorced choke.

Incidentally, as far as spread bore (Q-Jet) manifolds are concerned, any 68-74 Corvette manifold will work for you. However, I don't know of a single aftermarket spread bore manifold that will fit. There may be one, but if there is, I'm unaware of it.
