Yeah, I know. I have too much spart time on my hands.I know one thing, if I had a trip in front of me that covered 24,853 miles, but, I ended up flying 24,890, I would still need the same amount of Maker's to recover...Great Circle or not.

Re: Chevrolet Airspeeds
This is a great thread.
It reminds me of Rod Serling
The Twilight Zone
William Shatner
and gremlins on airplane wings.
If a Norfolk Southern NS 999 locomotive was traveling 75 MPH south-southeast on a heading of 155 degrees, and the wind speed and direction was 18 MPH out of the east at a heading of 262 degrees, then what direction would the smoke travel in? Neglect the fact that the earth is an oblate spheroid.
That reminds me..............
do any of you remember a book/movie called "The Langoliers" by Stephen King?
You'se aviator types ought to put away your leather helmets, goggles and scarves and read this book.Last edited by Joe C.; November 10, 2009, 11:55 AM.- Top

Re: Chevrolet Airspeeds
Depends on whether it is a GE or EMD Locomotive. Also, what's all this MPH talk? I thought air speed was in knots!
Does your airline code share with JetBlue? As the Pa Pa of two JetBlue Captains, who flies for free, I'm always interested in other airline routes in hopes of doing a direct instead of a connection - even with the fee.

Technology sure is great, as they say. A giant step from omnis. I remember on my second or third cross country a WA and fellow line boy I worked with put a magnet behind my compass---When I got back I had all legs signed off.
