On a 1963 Corvette...is it normal to have "Static" when the radio is going "In Between Radio Stations" and NO STATIC when the radio is "At The Radio Station"?

When you are on a station (let's say a strong one) the signal overrides the static.
How about when you are parked, engine off, playing the radio with the key turned to ACC ? Still got static between stations ?- Top

Yes, I have static on AM in my '66 coupe between stations, but none on FM. I have all the shielding, straps, etc. as stock.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

OK, to answer your question, FM was invented to eliminate the static that was endemic on AM stations. However, as long as you are not experiencing static when you are tuned to a station, what gives? -Clark- Top
