Hello, I'm new to the NCRS. I just purchased my first Corvette. (1968 coupe) The previous owner removed the entire wiper door assembly. I purchased all the parts except the knobs under the dash, and the valve behind the tach. I'm not sure which ones I need, if not all. Also I don't know what the valve is that mounts under the wiper door, or if it's correct for a 1968 corvette. If anyone can help with information, Thanks!

Re: 1968 Wiper Door
Welcome Nicholas to NCRS, I'm new too and also have a 68. I am part way through a restoration, my dash is out but my wiper door is intact. Let me know if you need photos. Jack has helped me out before with pics of his car-found it to be very helpful getting things sorted out.
Good Luck,
Pat

Re: 1968 Wiper Door
Hi Alan, Thanks for the email. If you have pictures, I would really like to see them. I'll be happy to send you any pictures of mine you may need as well. Real life pictures is one of the best ways for me to put things back together. Thanks again, NICK- Top

Re: 1968 Wiper Door
Nicholas,
Welcome to NCRS and congratulations on having a 68.
This is a great place to get help with all your questions.
While restoring my 68, I used this site as much as I used my Assembly Manual.
Post some pictures when you have a chance

Re: 1968 Wiper Door
Hi Nicolas,
Sorry for getting back late on this-missed your request. Hope these still help. Did not see a valve under my wiper door- all mechanical linkage (my car is a March 68 car) washer valves are tiny tubes attached to bottom of grile in front of door.
Attached are images of my wipper door.- Top

Look on the wheel well area above the windshield washer fluid container for a vacuum relay, this is also functions with the wiper door operation.
In picture #3 the phillips screw that is in the bracket arm into the wiper door is not original. A shouldered bolt with white plastic washer that you have in front of this is what should replace the phillips screw.
Hope this link works from Volunteer Vette, it will show the pieces I have mentioned. http://www.youblisher.com/p/2303-No-Title/ It is on page 160. Using the roll function on your mouse will turn the pages in the catalog. Double click to enlarge when you get to page 160. The mounting bracket for the wiper arm actuated vacuum valve is also available.Last edited by Jim T.; November 12, 2009, 12:12 AM.- Top

Re: 1968 Wiper Door
Nicholas,
Welcome to the '68 fraternity! This is a great place to get your questions answered. I want to repeat Kurt's comment about purchasing a '68 Assembly Manual. It has drawings that will give perhaps that view that a picture from one of us will not be able to show. I look forward to seeing pictures of your '68 as you go through the restoration process.Terry Buchanan

Re: 1968 Wiper Door
The electrical switch under the dash is the wiper override and stops the wipers on the windshield to allow for changing wiper blades, etc.
As others have suggested, order the '68 assembly instruction manual (AIM).
Welcome.
