Re: Thermostat housing, 300HP base engine

Thanks - Just a few days ago, in 2010, my friend destroyed his 300 HP fuel line while attempting to wrap it over the wrong housing, the one mentioned in the "Yellow" judging guide...

      Hi Guys...
      I did a silly thing, I actually referred to the TIM & JG for '66 & '67.
They both state and describe the 660's as being TFP for the base 300 HP engines.

        John,
Torque down cracking on the early ones?

Are there any other revisions noted on the drawing?

The drawing was released on 2/1/65, and the only revision of any consequence added a second optional construction which added a circular bead with a width of .06" and height of ..008"-.015" around the two bolt holes, on the bottom side, on 9-9-68. The first optional construction added the hose retention bead at the end of the neck, and the base drawing had no bead at all at the end of the neck.

I know where there is one of those with next to nothing hose retention on it, that one was on my 1st 66BB late fall 1965 built car.
