    040 Head Application?

I don't think this is a Corvette application, but does anyone know what car and engine an 040 head with a right triangle marking (as opposed to a pyramid) was used on?

    Any help would be appreciated.

The casting number was 3947040. It was a 64cc cylinder head used in trucks with 327 cid engines in the 68-69 period.

By the way, there was a similar head with and identical "right triangle" casting symbol used on Corvettes. It was GM casting number 3947041. It was used on some 1969-70 Corvettes with base engine or L-46 and was manufactured into finished heads with both 1.94/1.50 and 2.02/1.60 valve size. It was also used on other 1969-70 Chevrolet applications.

So, what was the difference between the 3947040 and 3947041 castings? I believe the difference was that the 3947040 used 1.72/1.50 valve size and hardened exhaust valve inserts.
