Beware of Corvette Central ! Not only do you not get your complete order. As the back ordered parts come in they ship them to you as they receive them. So, you may receive 3 or 4 shipments by the time your original ordered parts arrive. Shipping costs become prohibitive. They once sent me a screw set that was $6.00 on a back order with a $5.00 s&h charge. I called them about it and asked that they wait until all my back ordered parts arrived and to ship them all at once. They assured me it won't happen again.Well, you know what happened.Haven't dealt with them since.

I order from LICS with few issues. Much better service than CC.

        Re: Corvette Central

I have been using Corvette Central for most parts on a C1 frameoff restoration. I enrolled in the Start to Finish Program which gives an extra discount. A few years ago I was seeing the same problem with shipping and parts being out of stock. In some cases the waits were a long time. But lately they have had 85-95% of some large orders in stock. So from that perspective they have improved quite a bit. I have also bought some items from Zip and Chicago Corvette. Plus a few things from Driveline ads and of course ebay. But as everyone knows you have to be cautious when shopping there.

I've also had the same issues with Corvette Central, especially the shipping one item at a time and charging shipping and handling each time. I use Paragon for C1 items, and LICS for the C2 work I do. I've not ordered from ZIP for quite awhile, but they were always good when I did.

Of course, I don't really need too many parts, but I come up with reasons that I just have to have a certain piece. Often, I actually have the part but then I say it's just too much trouble to try to find it. So, it's easier just to order another one. What about if I have the part and it's otherwise no longer available (which is FREQUENTLY the case)? Well, that makes it even more fun. I get to go on the "treasure hunt" for the elusive NOS piece (that I already have). Plus, I get ANOTHER a good excuse for temporarily "suspending work" on the project. This is a "two-for-one" sort of thing.
How do you "suspend work" that you've never started?

I see a lot of their parts on ebay now.?? Maybe the current economic condition
has hurt them ... or the suppliers..? But that is no excuse for customer service. I would think the biggest customer base is NCRS members, family and friends. Word of mouth , great product and customer satisfaction goes a long way in my book when times are not so rosy ..maybe I am old fashioned or work too hard for my money. Try LIC
