    Corvette Central

Have any members had any problems with Corvette Central? I have been ordering parts through them since the late 1980's. But over the last year or so, many parts that I have ordered on-line have been back-ordered. Whats up with that? Back in July I ordered a rebuilt power steering pump, and I have not recieved my core deposit back yet...I have contacted them regarding this matter 4 times and they have failed to respond.- Now I need to place a new order, and I suggested that they could just credit my account for the core charge. But they could not do that. I will give them one more week to make good, then I will no longer purchase parts from them ever again!!

I ordered some simple parts (rubber brake flex lines) and they were on back order and they couldn't say how long they would be... I ordered the parts from Paragon.

I quit ordering from them because the last order I placed took over 3 months to get because of all the back-ordered parts. Of the 10 items I ordered, only one was in stock. I now order from Zip. 99% of the parts I've ordered have been in stock and the few that weren't, were sent within 1 week.

James the person to talk to at Corvette Central is Scott Kohn. I think that is Scotts last name. Ask for Scott maybe he can help you with your problem. Maybe they are spending too much time listing items on e-bay!

          Guys,

You might look at Keen Parts. The owner Tom seems to be a straight up guy with a passion for sales and service. Pricing is competitive with parts being as accurate as any of the other suppliers. Web site easy to follow... http://www.keenparts.com/. I deal with Kevin.....good help, good follow up and knowledgable.

I think all the companies go through their bad spells. I Did get an order from Keem recently, 30% of the parts were back ordered, several parts were not even close to being correct, had to send back.

For us in the NY Metro area, to place an order with LICS and receive it the next day is A+. Their website too is easy to navigate and I have never ordered from them and had a part back ordered. Unfortunately, they only do C2 parts.

I had a similar experience with Corvette Central. During the restoration on my 67, I ordered a handful of parts from them, and the order took WEEKS to ship.

Since then, I have exclusively ordered from Paragon. My orders ship IN FULL just a couple days after I order them, and I get them in a week or so. Very happy.

I have also ordered some parts from LICS and seen a similarly good response time.

I've had much better luck with Long Island. If I order on Monday morning, there's a package at my doorstep on Wednesday - just like clockwork.

I heard similar complaints from Dutch Chapter members, although others had good experiences when dealing with CC.

Remember most of all these parts we order come from other suppliers who build these parts and if they dont have enough orders wont build these parts, they all do, have you tried asking some of these main suppliers who they get their parts from, no they wont tell you cause they want to sell them to you, dah mo money, all you can do is get lucky or be patient, do like I do, go out and mow the yard, its sooo relaxing. Re: Corvette Central

I LIKE it when there's a delay in receiving parts for my project. That gives me another excuse for "suspending work". By now, I've pretty much run out of other excuses; you can only use the same one so many times.

Of course, I don't really need too many parts, but I come up with reasons that I just have to have a certain piece. Often, I actually have the part but then I say it's just too much trouble to try to find it. So, it's easier just to order another one. What about if I have the part and it's otherwise no longer available (which is FREQUENTLY the case)? Well, that makes it even more fun. I get to go on the "treasure hunt" for the elusive NOS piece (that I already have). Plus, I get ANOTHER a good excuse for temporarily "suspending work" on the project. This is a "two-for-one" sort of thing.

I just placed an order and ordered about 6 items. They shipped only one.
They have done this with each order I have placed over the past 2 years.

Same experience place an order they B/O alot the parts come in at different times and sometimes they are to late. Then when you don't need them and they arrive you have to pay for shipping.
