Re: Power brake hose clamps, what color green?
So, if you already have black power brake booster hose clamps, yer all set. No green required. (unless you need it for other clamps)- Top

Re: Power brake hose clamps, what color green?
John said that the green part # clamp was for the PCV hose, and the black was for the brake booster hose, right?

Re: Power brake hose clamps, what color green?
Ok, so now I'm really confused, because on page 79 of the 67 TIM/JG, it says about the PCV hose...."Two black phosphate spring tension-type clamps secure the hose."
John said that the green part # clamp was for the PCV hose, and the black was for the brake booster hose, right?
????...............
I think the green clamps are only used on the fuel line hose at the fuel pump and fuel tank sender.
If someone here has a 64-67 AIM handy, maybe they can confirm the different clamp for the fuel line hose.- Top

Re: Power brake hose clamps, what color green?
Very interesting
Here we go again...
The '67 and '65 JG make no mention of the clips, '66 says Green (Easily edited if necessary)
Nice pics, weren't those clips with the square ends used in the shark years (Black) and became service replacements for the M-Y's?
Keep 'em coming...

Re: Power brake hose clamps, what color green?
Yes, the square ends are applicable for 1968 to around mid-1970s someplace. You will have to ask the 1973 and newer guys when the use of the square ends ended and the round -- "safety clamps" began.
FWIW: For 1968+: Black clamps for Power Brake vacuum hose
Green clamps for PCV
I realize that is not the subject of this thread, however.Terry- Top

Re: Power brake hose clamps, what color green?
Ok, so this brings up a really interesting question.
If I get dinged for a point like this on the judging field where the 6 or 7 of us here on the TDB are having trouble coming to a quick and conclusive answer, HOW DO I DEFEND MY POSITION ON THE JUDGING FIELD? Especially when the color of a part is not called out in the TIM/JG?
Again, I'm going for Duntov, and I know I'm going to get somewhere between a 9 and 22 point deduct at Regionals or Nationals. Since I can only afford to lose 135 points total, if I lose 22 on paint, I need to save every point where I can.Chris Enstrom
