Sandra I'm not sure if being a SNAG (sensitive new age guy) is a good thing. All the girls I employ tell me how much of a snag I am. But then they walk all over me. I'm working on the theory that I have to harden up so the only colour I'm allowed to say I like is black. But my artistic side of me says that persian sands is a ripper colour. Not sure if it was on any other cars besides the Big Caddy. Stewy

There are worse things to be than a pink-loving doormat.

My first husband was (and still is) one of the good guys...tough, and rode bulls in rodeos. This was back in the 70's......when he got ready to ride I would hand him a pink shirt to wear. None of the cowboys wore pink then like they do now. On the other hand he was color blind and thought it was light green. Someone finally told him.

Persian Sands is a beautiful color....first time I've ever seen it.

Sandy I have a bull rider that comes in my shop. Besides being mental he is as tough as heshan underpants. I have never seen so many broken bones on a person in my life. He has had his teeth shattered twice and looks a treat when he smiles I'm never going to give him a hard time he was also a very good pub brawler. I think he has shifted over to the states to get more involved in riding those sharp horned beasts. Your husband must be nuts ! Sandy has he ever been stood on or hoofed by a bull ! I think that would be the most painful thing that could happen to a person. Stewy

          Roy,

Thanks for the information on the 55's. I just happen to know where there is a 55 Corvette Copper with the original paint. I also know the original owner of the 55. It was sold on a car lot and is in the second owners hands. Totally original including the original soft-top. Sam Foltz used this 55 Corvette Copper to help write the judging manual for 53-55 back in the early 70's.

Just a bit of history for the NCRS.

And NO the 55 is not for sale. If it ever is for sale, I will own it.

He only broke a bone or two getting stomped on....finally quit riding when he got his hand hung up in the rigging, and got bashed against a fence by a bull intent on killing him. The bull fighters couldn't get him loose, so he took quite a beating.......after not being able to remember anything for several days, decided he would rather concentrate on horse training.

He and I parted ways long ago, but there was no shortage of excitement while we were together and we trained and showed some of the top Quarter Horses in the nation at the time. (Training horses proved to be much rougher on me, where I broke around 40 bones, than bull riding was on him. And no, I don't look beat up.) Fun times.

Ya know Stewy, it's been a fun and fearless life, but if you live long enough, self-preservation kicks in. (Haven't broken any bones in about 12 months--orbital fracture and concussion out hiking, for pete's sake. Finished the hike.......7 steep mountain miles......a day or 2 later finally got my head xrayed when I couldn't understand what someone was saying to me. Graciously declined a hospital stay.) But I have a high pain tolerance.
So I'll just go for the fun part now....want to keep the Vette (and me) in one piece for a long while.

                  Dang,

A thread that started with rare and sometimes ugly colors of Corvettes is beginning to scare me just a little.

Have a nice day bull riders.

                    Hi Joe,
I agree.....in the spirit of thread's intention (before I get banned off the TDB), the Persian Sands color is gorgeous. It seems like an elegant "big boat" old car color, but wonder what it would look like on a Corvette.

The already posted color of Black Cherry on a Corvette was beautiful too.
Almost hate to paint mine just plain old silver.
                    Cheers, Sandy

Re: Colors liked most and perhaps not so much so

I'm going with Laguna Blue. I'm not a big fan of White, but if it's the original color on the "right" car, then I'm going with it. I think the "right" car is more important than the color. If you find the right car, and you happen to really like the color, that's great. My car is Laguna Blue. It wasn't my first choice, but the car was exactly what I was looking for mechanically, options, model year, etc., so I bought it. I went into purchasing a Corvette knowing that the car's color was a secondary consideration, as long as the car was its original color. Over the years, Laguna Blue has grown on me, and now I really like it. It's part of the car's personality.

                            Roy,

Would be happy to get some pics and I may have some already as I took hundreds for Sam Foltz. Years ago but they are still around somewhere.

Will try to get some in digital format or scan my existing pics.

Red/Red is my current favorite color now, but back in the day when I saw my first emerald green corvette-I loved that color. Back in 1970 I painted my first 62 emerald green. Will never forget that color.
