Clem my vintage race car 1964 Corvette was raced by Ed lowthar back in the day. His mechanic called my car the "Mighty Mouse" since it was a small block. Ed used the car for local Tri Cities region races and used it to teach his son how to drive a race car. I have letters and photos. So whoever is doing a book on Ed might want to see some of the stuff.
By the way with the new pan and the acusump my oiling system capacity is now 14 quarts. I measured everything as you suggested. I just took it to the track to test and the oil pressure was rock solid. So far so good. Jerry

ed was a great guy and a lot of fun to be around. he had more funny stories about racing because he not only raced sports cars but owned sprint cars and midget race cars. i remember the year SCCA put a certain size carb restrictor plate in BBC corvettes so we put on the 3X2 setup and had 6 throttle bores with the correct size restrictor plates and everyone else had only 4 throttle bores with their single 4 barrel carb. i think ed won every race that year. glad it solved your problems.
