I had one of those common experiences with Chicago Corvette when he charged my credit card $600 and shipped nothing. I had to file a dispute with my card company to get the charge reversed. Today in the mail I get a fancy catalogue from Chicago Corvette. Needless to say, it never made it inside my house. The guy's something else.

Just kidding.....thanks much for passing on yet another story about this vendor.
I'm wondering,.....is there a point where advertisers in THE DRIVELINE are refused due to numerous member complaints? RidgeGood carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .- Top

Re: Chicago Corvette
I prepaid a set of po-2 wheel covers, I called many times and many months later they arrived, they had no curb rash and only small dings, I need to repaint, replace all centers with emblems and maybe some spokes, @ $850.00 I considered it to be a fair deal, so I ordered a rear glass, it was never sent and had to file c.c. claim, got c.c. refund and now I'm done, it's just not worth the B.S. to get parts sometimes. Same problem with Goat Hill Classics...
There were many complaints here about this outfit a couple years ago. They used to have a full two page advertisement in every issue of the Driveline. Since then, they have not had any advertisements in the Driveline; I'm assuming that the NCRS nixed them from further advertising due to their questionable business practices.

Dale-----
Just a point of correction in case I am understanding you correctly. Goat Hill Classics (aka Paul Baker) is not, as far as I know, either associated with Chicago Corvette or a by-gone aka for same. It does seem that a lot of folks have reported problems with both Chicago Corvette and Goat Hill Classics but I don't think those two firms are connected in any way. They're even geographically far-separated. Chicago Corvette is located in the suburban Chicago area and Goat Hill Classics is located in Long Beach, California.
By the way, does anyone know if Al Fierke still actually owns and operates Chicago Corvette? When I have seen their booth at various shows I've been to in the last few years I have not seen him there. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Chicago Corvette
Chicago Corvette/Al/graygracy whatever is beyond bad news. I won't go into details as it's all been said before, but my brother and I both had terrible experiences on seperate transactions. He's worse than the swine flu. All NCRS members should be aware!!!- Top

Re: Chicago Corvette
I stand corrected and apologize for mixing the two. Goat Hill and Chicago Corvettes are not the same (as Joe pointed out) just close in another way, maybe. I was reviewing old people, not older people, who got burned threads and mistakenly lumped them together. I do know from personal experience, Al got to me, and I have had no personal dealings with Paul Baker or Goat Hill.

Re: Chicago Corvette
A very good friend of mine ordered a rare carb for a 65 365HP with air from Al. Wasn't cheap, I think around $700 and he is still waiting for it. It has been 6 WEEKS. He has called and keeps getting the same line...."it will go out this week"....This guy is a piece of work. Changing his userid on ebay multiple times, etc. I noticed he listed an NOS voltage regulator on ebay recently. Then I noticed it was Chicago Corvette and I immediately smirked. He is still trying to sell stuff. Amazing. This guy needs to be banned from advertising in the Driveline for sure. It's just too bad that more and more stories about this guy come to the surface. I can't understand how he has stayed in business all this time after these instances.....- Top
