hard to do seeing as i already did my right side in this crap, looks terrible.

now i have to rip it off making a mess then buy more adhevsive and more rubber which isn't cheap.

      let down big time

Did they send you, or did you order the wrong part #? Looks like they have a Black & a Yellow. Bill.

the tube I have even says "black" on it.

I figured hey it just turns black after its dry..yanno because the tube even says black.

I have no clue why it's this color.

Take your time with 3M's weatherstrip adhesive remover... You should be able to completely clean the exterior surfaces as well as the weatherstrip of the glue you used and start over without having to replace the rubber!

Did you contact the supplier and question the quality of thier products?

Not yet, I will even take a picture of the tube I used and the finished job tomorrow..kinda late not headed to bed.

but I ran uptown to get some mineral spirit which is what the tube says removes it..

                    didn't do too great.

                        Brandon,
One of my least favorite jobs is putting on weatherstrips.
But I have found that the 3M products are the best.
I believe the black 3M Super Weatherstrip adhesive is the best. The yellow product does not seem to work as well but I use it when called for.
I think the carbon black in the black products helps with adhesion.
Another thing I have found that a fresh tube workd better then a previously opened tube.
And last but not least, follow the instructions. 3M says to coat both surfaces (use a small brush and work fast) wait until they dry and then re-coat one surface and put the weatherstrip in place.
                        Sort of messy but do-able.
Usually my wife helps me, but it always cost me a dinner at her favorite resturant.

That doesn't appear to be as bright yellow as the usual 3M stuff.
Let us know what it looks like when dry.

                            Brandon:
I understand your disappointment and frustration when you work so hard to do a nice job just to have something like this mess up the finished product . Would it be possible to clean off the exposed yellow glue once it dries and still leave the weatherstripping in place? Although this would add extra work to your project, it would save your weatherstripping (and save you money). If you are able to remove the yellow stuff anyway, why not remove only the mess that is exposed? You can do the left side the same way if it's not too difficult to remove the mess, or you can exchange the yellow crap for the black stuff. The "fix" won't look too bad in the morning after a nice cocktail and a good night sleep !

                            Good luck,
                            Roger (50141)
