    Carlisle Traffic Question

Does Corvette Carlisle get as much attendance and traffic as Spring or Fall Carlisle?

    Re: Carlisle Traffic Question

Yep, traffic is a mess going in. We go in super early in the morning. Around 6:00am. No problems then. I would rather wait around inside the fairgrounds for the day to get going than sit out in traffic.

The key is knowing your way through the cornfields (back roads) otherwise you will sit there like a line of cattle

As long as you get in before 7:30 am you are usually OK

Anyone staying at the Wingate in Mechanicsburg? Is that a pretty straight shot to the fairgrounds or (Paul) should we try the backroads? We live in Illinois so we know cornfields. Hope to see a bunch of you guys there.

              Henry,

Mechanicsburg thats the back way from the east. I take 944 to 313 (I think thats the #) and NEVER NEVER SIT IN TRAFFIC. you can park right by gate 2 or 3.

Thanks Rich, we need to go to gate 3 to pick up our Funfield sticker. Not sue if that's the gate we go in for the Finfield but hope so. What did you say you'll be dragging around looking for bolts? I'll keep my eyes peeled for you. Good luck.

7:30 DW??? I highly suggest that on Fri and Sat you be on Rt 11 heading toward the fairground at 6:15-6:20AM Remember it's only a two lane road from the PA turnpike except for a very short stretch near the new townhouses. JD

To answer your question on traffic in one word. BAD....

Before 7AM and using Rich's route its a piece of cake. Have done it for the last 7 years and no traffic ever. Now leaving the place is another story.

watch out for the 35 MPH speed limits on those back roads. the cop hide behind those hay bails.

Henry, Gate 3 is the correct gate for the Fun Field. Looks like you already have good directions.

Since some of you mentioned the Fun field I have a question. Is there a place on or off the field that you can wash a car. I'm traveling from Long Island and am sure that the ride will be dirty when we get there and I'd like to give it a bath if possible.

They have an on field washing area right inside gate 3.
