Not sure what else the '56 Corvette style pan was used on.
The P&A says 56 D-D (Double Duty, Forward Control Chassis) Util (Utility) 8 cyl, w/baffle
Utility = 1 1/2 ton truck.
Ed McComas and other '56 guys have more information and hopefully they'll see this thread.

Here is a photo of the truck oil pan. The plug was used for a oil cooling line, as I recall. Very similar to the 1st version 56 Corvette oil pan.Attached Thumbnails

The Corvette oil pan was also used on some 2 ton trucks, as I recall. A freind of mine recently purchased one of these pans from a 56 265 out of a truck. If I remember correctly the engine code on that engine was F56H.- Top
