      John Hinckley posted a pic in the other thread. The one I saw is a truck oil pan.

        Gary, I have a E1956 and looking for a oil pan, I think a 56 Chevy truck will work? Can you help? Thanks, Joe Pennacchio (48633)

          Joe,

          Not sure what else the '56 Corvette style pan was used on.

          The P&A says 56 D-D (Double Duty, Forward Control Chassis) Util (Utility) 8 cyl, w/baffle

          Utility = 1 1/2 ton truck.

          Ed McComas and other '56 guys have more information and hopefully they'll see this thread.

            Ed, I have a E1956 and looking for an oil pan. I think a 56 Chev truck can be used, does this truck oil pan have a plug in front of the dip stick? Do you have any pictures?
            Thanks, Joe Pennacchio (48633)

              I have seen oil pans with a plug forward of the dipstick and I believe they were used on trucks, but I don't know what years. I don't have any photo's of a truck pan.

                Here is a photo of the truck oil pan. The plug was used for a oil cooling line, as I recall. Very similar to the 1st version 56 Corvette oil pan. Attached Thumbnails

                  The Corvette oil pan was also used on some 2 ton trucks, as I recall. A freind of mine recently purchased one of these pans from a 56 265 out of a truck. If I remember correctly the engine code on that engine was F56H.
