Hagerty told me they offer the 5% discount to the National Council of Corvette Clubs. They don't offer it to NCRS. Too bad because I have Hagerty, but I've not heard of NCCC.

I would like to know if anyone has had a negative claim experience with Hagerty. When the issue of classic car insurance comes up, I always give my positive experience with my Hagerty claim but have yet to see a negative claim experience. Anyone?

Re: The Best Classic Car Insurance?

I had a real bad experience around 2001 when a Corvette Specialist in Michigan turned out to be a thief and stole my original engine out of my 1962 as well as a few other unique parts. He also did damage to the paint. Seems he was restoring another customer's 62 at the same time! The insurance company Hagerty used at that time I can not remember now, but they were not user friendly. It cost me $10,000 to get the car back in shape and they paid me $2600. After numerous calls and letters to Hagerty and their insurance company documenting all the #'s matching parts I lost and pictures of the paint damage, I just gave up as they would no longer return my calls. I had to duplicate everything starting with the block compliments of Dale Pearman, and went on to rebuild it from there. Terrible experience.

Anything as long as the government is not involved!

I have Hagerty and on my way to Kissimmee this January a wayward stone left a 2 inch crack in my aged windshield while driving I-4. I called the Hagerty customer service number and they sent me a check within 72 hours. The check was for what you would pay at any run of the mill glass shop, approximately $225. I however ordered the correct date coded glass from Auto City. The final bill was closer to $600 with shipping and installation. I was reimbursed every penny, again within a few short days. I would recommend them very highly.

NCCC is a national Corvette organization that sanctions (national rules and insurance) Corvette driving competitions (low speed autocross, high speed track driving, rallies). If you have a local Corvette club that sponsors autocross and rallies, they will probably be affiliated with NCCC.

I use Hagerty for my 74'. I have not had a claim , but felt that their personnel were very professional . When I spoke to them I didn't feel like I was dealing with a typical insurance company. Agree value is what you want.

I have multiple cars insured with Hagerty. They are super reasonable for what I have insured. Call them, and then compare prices. I would recommend them, big time. I have used them for towing as well, what a God-send. ARA

I have Hagerty also. I haven't had to make a claim, but whenever I've dealt with them on the phone, it wasn't a drag. They were cool when I told them I wanted to insure my 59 fuelie for the value of all the parts even though it was in pieces. They agreed when I was done, it would be worth way more than that.
