The Best Classic Car Insurance?

Hi all,

I need to switch from standard auto insurance for my '60 to a company that specializes in it. I'm wondering which classic car insurer that you have found to be really good. Customer service is important, but has anyone actually had to file a claim for the stated value and got it without a hassle?

Check with the National Corvette Museum. They recently added Classic Insurance to their sales.

I use Haggerty, $247 a year with an agreed value of $30K.

Hard to beat $20 a Month for year round coverage.

Bob:

You want agreed value coverage. Then a total loss will be paid off at the value stated in your policy. Stated value is only an upper limit; you may not get the full policy value.

I have used American Collectors Insurance, phone 800 360 7289. I have my 61, and my 68 insured with them, and find them very helpful. Both are AGREED VALUE. I have used them since 1993.

I might mention that anyone who may consider insuring thru LeLand West collector car insurance (sometimes spelled all one word LeLandWest), they will not cover your Corvette while under restoration.
Some may feel this is a fair business policy, and if you do, then no problem.
I can tell you that most other high profile collector car insurance companies, do cover the car while under restoration. Just a tip for your consideration.

I think Hagerty only sells agreed value policies and my experience with a claim was outstanding. No arguing about the shops hourly rate, cost of restoration parts or the shops reasoning about removing the cluster to avoid getting dust inside the cluster.

I did the research plus most everyone I spoke to on several Corvette related forums recommended Haggerty
I have them for several cars and the rates are excellent, the coverage is excellent, and the customer service has been excellent.
I recommend them
I hate insurance companies (having worked for them) but I love Haggerty

I have just shopped the market for Classic Car insurance for 13 Corvettes. The best price and the best coverage is from Barrett-Jackson. They insure for 150% of stated value, including unlimited towing, etc and beat the closest by 20%. They have an agreement with a major insurer and it is the best bang for your buck.

actual cash value policies on our daily drivers. These policies depreciate the value of the cars as they age.

the B-Jackson endorsed insurance is Agree Value and the coverage is for up to 150% of the value documented at the beginning of the policy period, to cover improvements that were made that increased the value of the car.
