    '61 Interior Paint color

What is the best paint to use on 1961 interior components (dash cluster kick panels, etc) to achieve the correct sheen and pass judging?

If you have any plastic pieces that need repair this works very well. Once you get the technique down , the result is very good. I repaired a rear dogleg that was broken in half. After dyeing the part it was very hard to see where the repair had been done.

          Will "single stage" paint work?

If you want it to look correct without the "thick" look then Ray Carney is correct lacquer is the only choice.

              Richard...
Lacquer... Steering cover, Hub, and turn signal housing and the steering column down several inches below the turn signal housing are "unbuffed". A semi-gloss for these areas works well.

I found a site for two types of lacquer. One is Restoration Shop Acrylic Lacquer, the other is PPG Duracryl DDL acrylic lacquer. The PPG is more than double the price. Any experience with these?

If you want to duplicate OEM appearance, nothing is done to the interior paint, no sand, no buff, no nuthin...

                      RICHARD...
Most all lacquers in the rattle-can are good, I look for color match and a bottle of touch-up to match. Paintscratch is one source and will customer mix if required.
The Side-Kick panels should match the heater cover, package tray, end-caps, center console, etc.
